Guidance for Tattoo or laser treatment preparation

1. Cleanse the area where you will be receiving the tattoo or laser treatment using soap and water. This will help ensure the skin is free from any dirt or bacteria.
2. Take a hot towel and place it on the skin for approximately 5 minutes. This will help open up the pores and prepare the area for the numbing process. Once done, make sure to thoroughly dry the area.
3. Apply a generous amount of numbing cream to the designated area and massage it in gently. This will help desensitize the skin and minimize any potential discomfort during the procedure.
4. To enhance the effectiveness of the numbing cream, cover the creamed area with plastic wrap (such as saran wrap) and ensure it is tightly secured. The plastic wrap will create a warm environment that activates the cream and prevents it from drying out.
5. Allow the numbing cream and plastic wrap to remain in place for approximately 40-50 minutes before the tattoo or laser treatment. After the designated time, carefully remove the plastic wrap, wipe off any excess cream, and wait for an additional 20 minutes. This waiting period will ensure that the numbing effect reaches its optimal level.
6. Once the cream has been removed from the numbed skin, allow a resting period of 10 minutes. It’s important to note that the duration of numbness may vary based on skin type and the specific body part being treated. Generally, the numbness should last between 2 to 4 hours.
